Kids Update

My sister gave me a hard time for not posting what Connor actually received for his birthday so here goes....

1. He got an easle that has a white board on one side and a chalkboard on the other. This was taken away from him the day after he got it since he took the NON-WASHABLE markers and drew on my family room carpet, several of his toys, and all over the easle in places you are NOT supposed to draw. Could he possibly be too young for this toy????? We'll see - the markers are now stored in the cupboard and he can only use them when mom or dad are sitting right next to him.

2. He also got a little tow truck and remote control boat. I will post pictures of taking the boat to Jensen Park last weekend. He had a blast!!

I also thought I would post a little about his personality this last year. Connor is a very sweet boy and can be very shy at times. He will stand in our backyard on the edge of our property and watch the neighborhood kids play in their backyard and not even dare go over there. I finally convinced him to go play with the kids a couple of weeks ago and he actually went, had a good time and then didn't want to come home. Yea! Maybe we are overcoming this shyness. He is also a very routine oriented boy. He does not like when things are not normal. He lets Matt and I know when something has not been put away (when it should have been), or when he thinks we are doing or saying something he is not used to. He loves cars, trucks, basketballs, footballs (pretty much anything sports related) and playing outside. He loves riding his bike and playing with Kalli. He can make her giggle better than I can. We just love his cute little personality and his big hugs every night before bed!

Kalli is also getting a little personality. She sits up on her own and is no where near crawling (which I think is great!). I can give her toys and she will just sit there and play with them forever. She wiggles her toes back and forth the whole time she is sitting there. She is usually always happy (unless she is teething or has an ear infection - which she was the whole month of March). She has her 2 bottom teeth. She is a TERRIBLE napper. She takes about (3) 45 minute naps a day and tha'ts it. (She takes after her dad - does not need a lot of sleep). She does however, go to bed between 7:30 and 8:00 and usually sleeps until around 7:00 the next day. She also is really good at spitting her baby food out when I am feeding it to her. She gets really excited and blows out of her mouth and it sprays me all over with baby food. I need to start wearing an apron or something. It's cute to watch but annoying if your the one feeding her. Connor doesn't even like to stand by her anymore when I feed her. Hopefully this phase ends soon!! We sure love her though - she is a blessing in our lives!!!

Your kids have such cute personalities! I can't believe Connor wrote all over you carpet. I would have killed my kids. The other day I watched my neighbors kid spray his food all over his dad. I totally laughed but I would of hated it if it was me getting spit on. :) The joys of being a mother.
